How do I qualify for a critical illness benefit?

If you are diagnosed with an illness that is covered by your policy, and you meet the requirements of your contract, you will receive a one-time lump sum payment. This lump sum payment will be available to be used at your discretion.

Qualifications for a Policy Benefit

To qualify for a benefit under your policy, you are required to receive an objective diagnosis of your illness by an appropriate medical specialist – someone licensed to practice in Canada or the United States and who is trained in the specific area of medicine relevant to the critical illness for which a benefit is being claimed.

Choosing a critical illness plan

The type of critical illness insurance plan you select is contingent on a multitude of factors including: income, financial obligations, number of dependants, savings, and health-care expectations and needs. In order to meet the diverse needs of individual clients, different critical illness insurance plans are available.
